Triennale /Design Museum of Milano is free!

I think that red bed was my favourite.

this was my last visit to Chiang Mai University’s (CMU) art exhibition hall.

I’m becoming a true Thai (ha! more correctly: very desperate with the heat) – I’ve bought heat powder to spread over myself, both for body and face, to try to keep myself sweating  for 5 minutes outside. It kind of works – just about for 5 minutes… It really is quite stinking hot and humid, or “sticky” as they Thais say, here.

Oh ye, and I checked out that Art&Design Initiation at Minimal gallery. Very nice. And if you’re wondering what is written in the little piece of paper on my mirror it’s: live bigger, live harder, love deeper. Enjoy the young Thai artists’ work!

I made it to the opening night of the new graduates show of Chiang Mai University faculty of Fine Arts. Here are some free post cards I got from there. I went without camera and I hope to go back when it’s quieter with my camera.

Here are some fun work from a Thai artist (I’m so sorry but to my shame I forgot his name!). He studied in Scandinavia and learnt to make “practical” art – stuff that you can wear or use. I love his colours and shapes.

This is a great exhibition of young talent in the city and graphic design, video art, textile, jelwery, painting, printing, grafitti and comics getting married into the holy union of art. Which I don’t believe was birthed by a fat elephant-like Ganesh god. The God of Arts is vast and beautiful beoynd measure and I can see Him a lot around here.  http://thejellyproject.com/
